Pino
Rampolla, was born in Salerno. He lives in Ostia (Rome,
Italy).
More than thirty years ago Pino Rampolla begun his activity as a
photographer working at the newspaper "Roma" and later at
"Il Mattino" in Naples.
He moved in Rome working as Pietro Pascuttini personal assistant.
In this period he experienced different artistic fields: cinema, theatre
and television.
Rampolla is the winner of many different National Photo Contests and
Awards: 1996 Coni Award to the best sport photo; 1997 Agfa Prize
reserved to the journalists; 1999 Prize on Italian Voluntary
Service.
On April 2001 he has been invited by the Italian National Olimpic
Commettee to exhibit his photo at the Museum of Roma in Trastevere,
during the exibition "100 and more years of Soccer in Rome".
On May 15 2001 he received, at the Mazzoniana area in the Roma Termini
railway station, the Special Price at the National Photographic Prize
"Il viaggio" (the trip) organized by Clemente Mosca Cultural
Association.
On May 22 2001 Pino Rampolla recieved the Agfa Journalists Prize "Year
2000: what lasts, what evolves" at the "Circolo della
Stampa" in Milan.
He is the author of photographic
books.
